Straight Nappy, Hackensack NJ

Once a month, on a Sunday, I take my oldest daughter Gwen to get her hair locked at a salon in Hackensack. Empress Tintawi, at left, spends the better part of three hours making my daughters hair look gorgeous. This is no easy task, Gwen is fidigty, bored easily and well, 7. Since the first time I went, I saw the photographic oppourtunities in this community gathering place. A fun, relaxed, professional salon that has great characters coming and going.

Rose/Swedin Wedding 9/12

Heather Rose and Jason Swedin were married at Skytop Lodge Saturday surrounded by friends and family. It was a beautiful ceremony by Susanne Wilson followed by great food and dancing. The couple were a whole lot of fun to work with and I would like to thank them for letting me be there to capture their day. Extra thanks to Heather's dad, Jason's parents, Maureen and Aylssa at Skytop and Kennedy, the flower girl. She kept me company and provided great conversations about my kids, sleeping schedules and boogers.

Georges/Ortiz Engagement 9/9

Carly Georges and Levi Ortiz's engagement session was a great one. Not just because Westfield is a beautiful town to shoot in, not just because the fading natural light combined with the glowing of artifical light made for gorgeous scenes, nope. It was not just because the two of them had so much fun in front of the camera, or that Levi has a great sense of humor, or that Carly is really into photography. It was a great one because we went and had a drink at the end!

Ending the night at their favorite bar was a great way to get to know each other. Just like my wife and I, music is very important to them at there wedding, so we talked about our favorites. What to play at the wedding and what not to play. Music that people CAN dance to, and music that everyone WILL dance to.

Thanks to Carly and Levi, I had a blast and my wife loved the bar photos.

Gresh/Coppola Engagement 9/4

Last Friday I photographed Linda Gresh and Richard Coppola at Skytop Lodge at Skytop PA. Linda, Richard and I met there at a bridal show some time back and hit it off right away. They are a playful couple and we had a great time walking the grounds at Skytop. Linda and Rich are getting married in just a couple of weeks and they are excited about the day. They said they are "doing it once, and doing it right!" Getting married at probably the prettiest place in PA is definetly
doing it right!

Last wedding with Callie

This past Sunday I photographed my last wedding for my old boss. It was the last wedding I shot with Callie as well. The first wedding Callie and I did I will never forget, Dave Marion was there as well.
Since then, Callie and Sara, worked with me the most out of any other shooters.
The wedding this weekend, out in Staten Island, was a hoot, took some great photos, had a bunch of laughs with past clients and Callie did it all with a broken right hand.
She never complained about it, though she should ditch the vertical grip and get a 50mm 1.4. Just my opinion.

Thanks Callie.

LaVecchia/Lombard Wedding 9/5

Saturday I photographed the wedding of Jenna LaVecchia and Nicholas Lombard. The day started with pink flasks and lots of laughter and only got better! After photos at the gorgeous home of Karen and Joe I went to Our Lady of the Lake in Sparta to meet up with Nick and his parents Carrie and Anthony. A great ceremony from Father McHugh and it was straight to the awesome MeadowWood Manor!

It was a great wedding full of happy, fun people that wanted to party all night. I am sure it continued after I left. Special thanks to Denise Bessemer, my daughters kindergarten teacher, and The Wedding Store.

Big shout out to Dave Marion at Creative Video Concepts, always fun with you brother!

Blog Post 100!!!!

This one is for my wife...

I could have never done any of this without you. Your determination in life, love of life, and willingness to share it with me has made me a better man. Because of you I now have patience and understanding, I listen to folk music, cook vegetables, own my own business, pursue my hobbies, have an incredible family, and look foward to everyday.

I said it years ago and still believe it, i pulled the lever on the slot machine of life and it came up "777." Thank you.
