SCF&HS: Day One

It rained all day...guess what... the fair goes on. There were still livestock to groom, the Beef Obstacle course, young volunteers, opening cermonies honoring Bruce and Bev Gordon for donating the gorgeous new Conservatory, and a woman kicking everyones butt at a Cyclocross event. Not a fan of the rain, but definetly a fan of the Fair.

Love the hot blanket as protection from the sun, and the baby's face on the lower right.

See you there tommorrow!

Upcoming Stuff!

The New Jersey State Fair/Sussex County Farm and Horse Show is only a few days away and I will once again be the official photographer for them! I have photographed the fair for 3 years for them and did it since 2001 when I worked for the New Jersey Herald. Now I bring my kids with me though and I can wear shorts!
Some upcoming Blog entries will include digital camera suggestions, (I get asked frequently), and ways to improve you photography. I am playing with the idea of offering one on one classes in the fall.
I will be shooting a project of portraits for Project Self Sufficiency in Newton and starting my second cookbook collaboration with Andre deWaal of Andre's Restaurant.

Also, it will be Yaskovic Wedding + Portrait's one year Anniversary on August 4th! Time to celebrate!

Wilson/Falconeri Engagement

Saturday morning my wife and I dropped off the kids at my in-laws house and headed down to Philly for Donna Wilson and Lee Falconeri's engagement session. We started taking photos early because the heat was coming and boy did it! Donna and Lee choose around Boat House Row and the Art museum to take photos and it was gorgeous. We tried to stay out of the sun and away from large birds of prey, (look for an upcoming post) and took some great pics while doing it.

Donna and Lee will be getting married at Perona Farms in just two weeks and  I have no doubt it will be a fun and gorgeous wedding. Thanks for picking a gorgeous location you two!

Giarratana/Schneider Wedding

Yesterday was awesome. I photographed the wedding of Katelyn Giarratana and Jeremy Schneider. It was one of the most gorgeous days this year and everyone was enjoying it.

The ceremony was in Lafayette and reception at The Lafayette House. We also captured the happy bride and grooms photos right near the antique center.

Their was incredible flowers by Ibranyi is Floral, great music from The Platinum Band, and everyone looked their best, completely dressed by Sew and Sew Bridal.
Thank you to the Giarratana and Schneider families, Chris at Lafayette House, Eileen, and Debbie!

Paternostro/Pfister Wedding

Saturday I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Angela Paternostro and Russ Pfister. Their ceremony was held at St. Michaels in Netcong and the reception was at The Farmstead in Andover. It was a very elegant affair with gorgeous flowers everywhere, smiling parents, laughing guests and boxes of pastries for all the guests.
I am eating one of them as I write this.

Thanks to Angela and Russ for having me photograph their wedding, Thanks to Father Nick for asking me were I was during the whole ceremony, and thanks to the waitstaff at The Farmstead, you ladies rule!

Robinson/DeBoer Wedding 7/4

This fourth of July I photographed the wedding of Dawn Robinson and Brian DeBoer. Waterloo Village, where I was married to my beautiful wife 5 years ago, was the gorgeous setting.
Brian and Dawn used to work at Waterloo years ago together and it was definetly exiciting and nostalgic for them to walk the grounds on their wedding day. It was a sweet ceremony and you can easily tell these two are
not just husband and wife, but best of friends also. Congratulations!
