Last wedding with Sara

This past Saturday I did a wedding for my old boss. It was a great wedding, with old friends and a few new ones. It was also the last wedding I did with one of my favorite co-photographers, Sara Natoli.
Sara always looked out for me and we always had fun. Our last wedding meal was cheeseburgers at Skytop! Nice!

Emily and Andrew 6/20

Last night I photographed the very sweet wedding of Emily Bruchert and Andrew Sandberg. The ceremony was at Old Clove Church outside of Susssex and the reception was at the Blue Ribbon on Culver's Lake.

It was a small intimate affair that everyone had a great time at. If somebody didn't know each other other they did by the time they sat down to eat.

Emily and Andrew are so in love with each other. They laughed and cried through the whole ceremony and kept up the laughter all night.

I wish them the best of luck and yes the last photo was a curtsey.

Fujifilm Instax 200

I want this! Polaroid recently stopped making instant film and also their cameras. This jammy is the newest instant camera around. Seems to me like it would be a lot of fun. Photos come in a 10 pack just like Polaroid and boil down to about $1 a pic.

I am always looking at cameras on ebay late at night wishing for a Rolleiflex, or Contax G2, all expensive and not really cameras I would use for work, so costs, high costs, cnnot be justified. This however...

Esposito/Timmel Wedding

I photographed Tina and Derick's wedding this past Saturday at Chateau Hathorn in Warwick, NY. You may remember them from their recent engagement pics posted a short time ago.

Their wedding was very easy going and fun. We did most of the pics before the ceremony so everyone enjoyed the cocktail hour and went straight in to the reception.

They have a great set of friends and family who partied all night, most definetly through the after party. Congrats to them both and thanks to Helene at Chateau Hathorn for her hospitality.

Protest in Newton

People from community organizations such as Fredon-PALs, Stop the Lines, NJ Highlands Coalition, Hardwick Enviromental Commission, Stop Riverbank, Sierra Club, and the Fredon Board of Education, rallied in the Newton Square this evening to get the message out about PSE&G's proposed new power lines.
Go to their sites to find out more. I will be putting up more photos as opportunities present themselves.

Veggie Heaven!!!

Picked up our first share of the season at The CSG at Genesis Farm in Blairstown. Not pictured is one pound of salad greens and one pound of cooking greens. Let the cooking begin!

Manhattan 5/22

Last Friday I went to Brooklyn and learned a ton of info about printing photos from master printer George Kondogianis. It was a small workshop with only seven other "students" and VII Agency photogrpaher Gary Knight. It coincided with Gary's "Amongst the Poor" exhibit at the VII gallery. It was awesome to talk with Gary one on one about work and family. George shared more knowledge about printing then I think I will ever remember. Marcus Bleasdale and Franco Pagetti were also there, which was also very cool!

Noel and Melissa

This was one of the easiest engagement sessions I have ever done. Great locations, great light, and a couple who wouldn't laughing and smooching. Noel and Melissa met me down at Pier A in Hoboken tonight, and besides me being late due to Rte. 80 traffic, it was awesome.

Their wedding is in October at the James Ward Mansion in Westfield. They are alot of fun to be around and in a matter of 45 minutes I found myself looking at over 200 photos to edit!

These were some of my faves but they get to see all of them.

"Fiddlers Farm"

Fiddlers Farm is located in Stillwater, New Jersey. Don Sharp, 84, owns over 130 acres there and over 80 just outside of Blairstown, New Jersey. His farm hand, Jason Roof, 28, has been working alongside Don for the past ten years.

I took these, as well as others, this past Sunday and will be heading back throughout the summer to compile an essay on these two men and their hard work.

Images of Newton

This will be an ongoing series of photos taken in downtown Newton. Although these two happen to be recent, some will be from the past. I love the rich diversity of Newton and it inhabitants. A long term project in the making. Started another long term project as well today, an essay on a Stillwater farmer Don Sharp and his right hand man, Jason Roof.

Esposito/Timmel Engagement

Last Thursday night I said hey just grab the umbrella and we will do them anyway. I met Tina and Derick in Warwick NY for their engagement session and yes it was raining, slightly. As far as I am concerned, a little rain never hurt anybody, maybe just some camera equipment.

It was fun. These two are totally at ease in front of the camera and I cannot wait for their wedding at the end of the month.

The little town of Warwick was a great location with lots of great buildings and little alleyways. All night we just kept smelling the air and saying, "where is that coming from?" There seems to be a bunch of little restaurants in the downtown.

Anyway, as I said, Tina and Derick were alot of fun, and I can see their wedding will be also. See you on the 30th guys!

Photo of the Day 5/8

Doing some landscaping with my brother in law today and I looked up to see SIX bears walking about 100 yards away. I grabbed the camera and Pat and I followed them along the dirt road behind my in laws house. Never captured all in one frame, the most was five, but this was the best pic.
I like them when they are not on my back porch.

Weekend in the Adirondacks

Kate and I were able to get away this
weekend and stay at a friend's cabin in Keene, NY. It was AWESOME!

My first attempt at fishing the Ausable River was unsuccessful but I blame it on very cold, high water. Not lack of expeirence. Nope. Natures fault. Nancy at the Hungry Trout in Wilmington directed me where to go and what flys to try.

This stretch is at the base of Whiteface Mountain and it was gorgeous. Had one monster trout follow my Wolly Bugger in but didn't bite. It was a great time even if I caught nothing. As you can see I took alot of photos inbetween and even during.

Yes...self-portrait fishing the Ausable Rivers western branch. Ahem.

Some scenery around Keene.

And finally, on the way home we stopped in Saratoga Springs for lunch. If you are ever there head to "Cantina" on the main drag. The best fish tacos to date, and a coffee flan that was beyond belief.
